What is an Ayurvedic Spring Cleanse?

What is an Ayurvedic Spring Cleanse?

The Spring Cleanse is a weeklong reset at home for your digestion, lymphatic system, nervous system and detoxifying organs like the liver. Some cleanses emphasize extreme fasting, unbalanced diets, and are frankly not fun, relaxing and enjoyable. Other cleanses can leave you with a blood sugar crash. Ayurvedic Cleansing is unique because it restores the body leaving you blissful!

Spring is a Season of Energy Vitality and Rebirth! It is a Time for The Doshas to Recalibrate!

In Ayurveda there are three Doshas that effect the body in different ways. In Spring, Vata body types will embrace the Spring with a sense of relief as their bodies are less aggravated from the harshness of winter. Kaphas may find themselves feeling heavy and stagnant with possible allergies. As Spring approaches Summer, Pitta symptoms start to accumulate. After the winter months, the lymphatic system is often times congested, and as the days warm, the body is ready to burn the fat of winter.

There is No Better Time To Cleanse Than The Spring!

Did you know that microbes in the air change from one season to the next? AND that the microbes in your gut should be changing from season to season too! Not to mention that the receptors in your brain for mood hormones change seasonally! That is why it makes sense to sink up with nature’s rhythms. Spring gives you the first harvest of the year to feed your body the microbes it needs to build immunity.

What Will You Learn:

You will learn how to use digestive spices, Ghee, kitchari, teas and other cool Ayurvedic tricks to enjoy the Spring! You’ll learn the tastes to incorporate into your diet, and you will be given simple recipe ideas for when you are lost and confused on what to do next or are bored of kitchari after eating it day after day. If you go beyond two weeks to three or four, you may want to change up a bit what you are eating.

We will incorporate Integrative Health protocols into your cleanse to help detoxify modern toxins! Let’s face it, we don’t all have time to check out from our jobs, families, and life pressures. We have taken the guess work out of the process, so you can enjoy the benefits.

Why Ayurveda and Integrative Health?

We live in a very toxic world that our ancestors did not have to face. There are over 80,000 man-made chemicals in our air, water and food, and this puts an extra added burden on the liver. Without the proper vitamins and minerals in our system, our liver can get very congested and overburdened. The result is inflammation in our bodies.

You have the option to do just the Ayurvedic portion of the cleanse or you can add the Integrative Health protocols to your cleanse. You will learn how to do both in a simple way.

I hope you decide to join us on this journey!

Your Instructor, Paige Pearman

Paige is an Ayurveda and Integrative Health Practitioner, Ayurvedic Body Worker, and yoga instructor. Paige received her Ayurvedic training from the California College of Ayurveda. Before her career in the Healing Arts, Paige received her BA from Mills College and her MPA from the University of Louisville.

It was after a physical life trauma changed Paige’s health picture that she began using Ayurveda and yoga to help her heal her life. In 2015, Paige completed her Level 1 Core Power Yoga Training in Boulder, CO. Shortly thereafter, Paige completed her RYT 200 hour with Baptist Yoga affiliate. Through her love of yoga, Paige found Ayurveda, the Sister Science to yoga, the oldest form of holistic medicine.

“Doing a spring cleanse with Paige was such a beautiful experience. The recipes are clean and delicious, and it was a bonus to work together as a small community. I especially LOVE the kitchari. I have made it for several guests and at my yoga retreats with great applause. Thank you for your passion, leadership and love that goes into all of your programs and recipes. Our community is lucky to have you!”

“Through the cleanse, I learned new recipes, cleansed my colon and got off of a medication for gut based issues. I felt so much better after the cleanse, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try it. It’s gentle and enjoyable, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed the plant based recipes. I plan to do it again in the near future!”

– Carol Baker, Retired Art Teacher

“I did the Ayurvedic Cleanse with Paige last year, and I had great results. I have struggled with allergies, gut problems, and being overweight. Paige was able to help me reset. I lost weight, but more importantly I felt great”

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?
The Spring Course starts Friday, March 24 – March 31, 2023. You will have access to the LIVE Zoom cleanse calls, but it is also self-guided, so you can do it at your own pace and in your own time. Dates for the 2024 course will be announced soon.
How long do I have access to the course?

After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this course for as long as you like – across any and all devices you own.

What foods does the cleanse focus on and or eliminate?

The Ayurvedic Spring Cleanse focuses on adding in nutrients, enzymes and prana (life force energy) through green vegetables, sprouts, sprices, and seeds primarily. We focus on increasing bitter, astringent and pungent or spicy foods related to the Kapha Season and cleansing. We offer guidance in how to prepare for the cleanse, and allow you to choose through your intuition the path that is right for you based on your energetic body or Dosha. The cleanse attunes you to seasonal eating so you crave that which is seasonal, local, and good for your constitution. The cleanse allows you to attune to your physical, mental and emotional bodies. You naturally, through the process, eliminate what no longer serves you such as mental, emotional and outdated beliefs and cravings.

Do you supply the recipes?

Yes! There is a standard Ayurvedic cleanse option, and then recipes to amplify liver and gallbladder detoxification. Should you wish other options there are several other recipe ideas to guide you in your cleanse. Cleansing is a time to slow down, so the recipes are simple and easy to make. I highly recommend only choosing a few recipes and simplify your food choices during the cleanse. When cleansing less is more!

What else does the cleanse offer?

In addition to intuitive eating, the cleanse involves a “retreat” from your daily life. Learning to savor the time to renew and rejuvenate yourself is a gift of loving kindness to yourself. You’ll learn to incorporate daily self-care techniques that detoxify the body and nourish your soul.

Can I continue my regular exercise routine during the cleanse?

It depends on your constitution or body type. In Ayurveda, Kapha body types may end up with more energy and exercising more during the cleanse, while Vata types may need more yin and restorative practices like walking , gardening and being in nature. Pittas may sail through it just fine or may go either way. I recommend using this time to not work harder, but focus on being rather than doing! Your body needs to utilize it’s energy to clean up ama or toxicity so lean into the power of the cleanse to work on your behalf for you!

What if I cannot attend the calls?

No worries! All of the calls are recorded and shared with the group. AND last year’s accountability Q and A calls are saved in the course, so you will be guided in your cleansing journey whether you make the calls or not!

Will I learn more about Ayurveda during the cleanse?

Absolutely! You will learn about your Dosha or Constitution through the cleanse, and about the concepts of agni, ama and ojas! Purifying ama or toxicity through mind, body and spirit is at the heart of Ayurvedic teachings.
