Shirodhara

Shirodhara is a warm oil treatment over the forehead. This Ayurvedic treatment is known to calm the mind, making it an ideal treatment for those who suffer from modern ailments of feeling stressed out and mentally exhausted. Shiro means head, and dhara means dripping oil as if a thread. Shirodhara as a treatment consists of a stream of oil consistently running over the forehead. Traditionally, the oil is run from a copper vessel held about 6 to 8″ above the forehead. The purpose of Shirodhara is to calm the nervous system. It will leave you with a sensation of deep relaxation, inner calm and peace. Shirodhara is commonly offered as part of panchakarma and cleansing of the body and mind.

Svedana

This relaxing therapy warms your body without overheating your head allowing your pores to dilate while you rest comfortably. Organic herbs are combined with purified water, creating a warm steam that is circulated throughout the canopied tent. Svedena is beneficial on its own or paired up with other treatments, and aides in weight loss, detoxification, stress relief, reduction of cellulite, joint pain, sore muscles, inflammation, and allergies, while hydrating the largest organ of your body for beautiful skin.

Ayurvedic body therapies are a significant part of the healing process in Ayurvedic medicine and are becoming increasing popular around the US and the world.
